This assignment is due on 11/13/2015
Since we have finished our TMEA and Fall Festival experiences, it's a great time to do our first concert critique assignment.
Students are to watch a concert in person OR online and type a one page, double spaced response in size twelve Times New Roman font.
Students are to have their name, assignment due date, and period at the top left of the paper on separate lines.
Yes, you can use YouTube!
If you watch a concert in person, I need a concert program when you turn in your one page critique.
If you watch a concert online, I need (on an additional page) the website URL, the name of the ensemble, the pieces performed, and the composers names.
Students are to critique:
accuracy of pitch
accuracy of rhythm
dynamic contrasting
difficulty for the orchestra (is this piece too hard for the group that's playing it?)
Students are to write why or why they don't like the pieces performed.
Students are to reflect on what the performers were doing that they liked the most.
Students are to reflect on what the performers were doing that they liked the least.
If students are to watch an online performance, I need a minimum of three pieces performed by ONE ensemble.
